This week I did my normal duties as i would every week. This week I learned something very cool though. One of the hand therapy patients we have, he got into a bad car accident and he lost the ability to do anything in the whole left arm. There was nerve damage as well as many fractures to his arm as well. While I am here, it has been one year since his accident and he has been in physical therapy. He has almost all of the ability in his arm back except a few things, he is a pilot and he has to reach back and press some buttons without looking and for a normal person that would be easy but the mobility in his arm is not there. So what the therapist did this week was, sometimes in cases like this, there is a muscle in between the clavicle and the first rib and it can get so tight over time and shorten the mobility. So to release that we have to kind of massage it out, and surprisingly enough it really worked!
One of my favorite quotes from the article was the one from Ellie in Up and she said "adventure is out there". This quote in a whole describes my whole life in one simple sentence. Ever since i could remember i was always adventurous and i wanted to always do the unthinkable. I mean for goodness sake i am moving to Hawaii this summer! This is something i never had to go looking for it always came naturally and normal in my life, from little things like going on a walk down the beach when we went up north every year and not stop walking until i hit the "bridge" (we used to call it) which didn't even stop me then, I just climbed around it:). To things like going to California by myself when i was 13, many of these adventures have shaped me to who i am today they have gave me many different amazing characteristics like being independent, being aware of my surroundings, and having a better ability to talk to people and meet others around me.
